Latvia : Latvia is a republic in North East Europe. The country forms together with Estonia and Lithuania the 3 Baltic countries on the Baltic Sea. The country borders at Belarus and Russia. since May 1, 2004 Latvia is a member of the European Union. Ten percent of the country lies below sea level. Capital Riga is a vibrant city, situated on the Baltic Sea. From there one can easily reach the other places in the country.
