Travel information about vacation/holiday in Norway
Norway is a sparsely populated northern European country that is part of Scandinavia. The capital of Norway is Oslo. The country is bordered by Sweden, Finland and Russia. The Svalbard archipelago also belongs to Norway. In particular the Norwegian fjords are well known and very impressive. The most famous fjords (Geirangerfjord and Nærøyfjord) are on the world heritage list of UNESCO. At the coast of Norway orka's can be seen. Sightseeing for travel or for holidays are: Oslo, Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen, 600m high), bryggen (hanze houses) in Bergen, the Jugendstil built centre of Ålesund , the old city of Stavanger (Gamle), National Park Dovrefjell, Pilgrims city Trondheim (with the Dome), Mining town Røros , Vikingships (at the museum peninsula Bygdøy), Lillehammer and the Svalbardeilanden.
A hotel is an establishment that provides paid lodging, usually on a short-term basis. Hotels often provide a number of additional guest services such as a restaurant, a swimming pool or childcare. Some hotels have conference services and meeting rooms and encourage groups to hold conventions and meetings at their location. Hotels differ from motels in that most motels have drive-up, exterior entrances to the rooms, while hotels tend to have interior entrances to the rooms, which may increase guests' safety and present a more upmarket image.
