Poland is a country in Central Europe, with Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania, Belarus and Ukraine and Russia as neighbours. Poland is a member of the European Union. The capital of Poland is Warsaw (in Polish Warszawa). Warsaw has been completely destroyed during the Second World War. Archaeology literally means the teachings or knowledge of the old or ancient (archaios is Greek for 'old' and logos means' knowledge '). The archaeology deals with physical remnants of past human activities. On this basis, the archaeologist trying to understand something of the manner in which people previously lived.
