The Azores archipelago, consisting of 9 Islands (Sao Miguel, Corvo, Flores, Terceira, Graciosa, Sao Jorge, Pico, Faial and Santa Maria) in the Atlantic Ocean also belong to Portugal. Sightseeing for travel or holidays: Lisbon (Castelo Sao Jorge, Alfama Moorish quarter), Porto (with nineteen iron bridges over the River Douro), Serra da Estrela, Évora (UNESCO World heritage), the popular Algarve coastal region (with resorts Albufeira, Praia da Rocha, Faro, Praia da Oura and Tavira) and luxury beach resorts Estoril and Cascais.

A cruise ship is a very large passenger ship, specially designed for holidays on the water. Mostly sunny destinations are on the program, but also Alaska or the South Pole are popular destinations for cruises in summer. Cruises are becoming increasingly popular. The television series The Love Boat from the 70s, recorded on the Pacific Princess cruise ship from the company Princess Cruises, made cruises and cruise ships popular to a large number of people.
